Easy Peasy Cheesy Fondue Recipe

I received this recipe from my favorite high school French teacher, Madame Robinson, years and years ago and I still use the same crumpled up recipe card to this day! It is the perfect recipe for Valentine’s day because it’s romantic (as all French things are) and it tastes like you have been in the kitchen for hours even though you can whip it up in about 15 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 cup shredded parmesan
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Heat all ingredients slowly in pan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Transfer to fondue pot or crock pot (or leave on low heat on the stove). Note: If sauce is too sticky, add a little milk or half & half.

Dippers:
Apples, bread, salami, crackers, and just about any vegetable (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, peppers, black olives, etc.)

I love quick meals like this because then I still have time to primp and set the table while the meal stays warm. Having a home cooked meal is about a thousand times better than being crammed in a busy restaurant full of high expectations, awkward couples, and slow service (plus we all know the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach). Light a few candles, put on some Michael Bublé, and you are set for the perfect date night in!

Don’t worry about dessert, tomorrow I will share my foolproof 10 minute cheesecake recipe that can be made ahead of time!

XO,
