I’m a sucker for Valentine’s day. Yes, I know it’s a cheesy day full of gawky red, pink, and purple hearts, overstuffed teddy bears, and overpriced flowers but it’s a whole day that celebrates love (and chocolate), what’s better than that? Growing up it was always my favorite holiday. Even though I never had a boyfriend I still loved decorating my valentine’s mailbox, picking out which friend got which Hello Kitty valentine, and having that day full of butterflies to see if the boy I liked would know that my generic “you’re the greatest, valentine” card meant I liked him.
Luckily I have someone special to spend it with but even if you don’t, I hope you’ll still celebrate the day with those you love and focus on how blessed you are to have them in your life! When I was boyfriendless (which was every Valentine’s day before meeting J), I would get together with all my girlfriends who were also single and exchange gifts with each other.
